How is it possible...

...that our little Lil is almost two?! She is 21 months today and I feel like she is looking more and more like a little girl everyday.

So much is going on in her little world!
  • To say Lil has gone through a language explosion would be an understatement! She is definitely talking in sentences...some words we understand and some, we don't. She says phrases like "I PAY!" (or "I play") and "I help" (when she wants to help mommy feed the dog) as well as "hi dog!" (she has yet to call Conrad by his name) and "hi mommy daddy!" (including both of us in her greeting.)
  • Lil is a friendly little girl, she likes to tell everyone hi and bye. And when she says bye, she will occasionally throw in a "see ya!"
  • "Shaky, shaky" is her new way of saying she is ready to dance.
  • One of her very favorite expressions lately is "OH MY!"
  • We hear a lot of "uh oh", "uh huh", "peez", "dank do" and "no"s during our days.
  • When we get the camera out to take her picture, she says "CHEEZ!", tilts her head to the side and smiles.
  • More than anything, Lillian loves to be outside and has started throwing tantrums when we bring her in the house.
  • She likes to sing her own little made up songs and read her own little stories.
  • Her favorite numbers are two and nine.
  • She has started telling us when she is ready for bed by saying: "nigh nigh, cece, bankie, pell-oh." Usually in that order.
  • Trains now make a sound..."CHOO CHOO!"
  • Hiding from mommy and daddy is so much fun.
  • Every plane that flies overhead is identified as a "PANE!"
  • She knows where her head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, belly, knees and feet are and will show you if you ask. She also says the word when identifying the body part.
  • Her favorite animals these days are (in her own words): cow, meow meow, burd, tuw-tul (turtle), fi-fly (firefly), fishie, monkey, duck and doggie. When she says frog, it sounds a little like a swear word that starts with the same letter...she has also started to do a half hop and says "wibbit."
  • She repeats EVERYTHING we say.
  • She is giving more and more hugs and kisses and it is WONDERFUL.
  • She still loves Elmo. And Cookie. And Zoe. All by name.
  • She has really started to test boundaries and what she can, and can't get away with. Fun times for mommy and daddy.
  • She is dancing, spinning and running...everywhere. She can open doors and reach up onto our counters. Toddlerproofing has been in full effect in our house and anywhere else we go.

And since I missed her 20 month update (which I started to write about but never finished), here it is:

  • She is wearing size five diapers
  • For the most part, she is in size 24 months...even some 2T
  • She's got four more teeth coming in...the mean, pointy incisors.
  • Her two favorite words are poop (sounds more like pop when she says it) and pee. She is very interested when anyone goes in the bathroom, she has us check if her baby has a "pop" and points to her private area saying "pop" or "pee." So yes, maybe she is ready to start potty training...but I don't know if I am!
  • All she really wants to eat (by request) is "PASTA!" Meals have become more difficult as she becomes more and more picky about what she wants to eat.
  • "FAIR-FULL!" = careful. Especially funny when she yelled it repeatedly at the monkeys high in the trees at the zoo or when she rats herself for doing something she knows she isn't supposed to be doing by repeating "fair-ful" over and over to herself...loud enough for us to hear.
  • She loves her "baby" and makes it cry by saying "WAH. WAH. WAH." And then she picks her up, gives her a hug and a few pats on the back.
