First road trip!

Lil and I took our first road trip this weekend. Addison had a full weekend of work so we thought it would be a good time for the two of us to visit Grammie and Grandpa in Indianapolis. The drive there and back wasn't too bad, Lillian got upset the last 20 - 30 minutes each way which is understandable. I did my best to console her from the front seat which included tossing toys and pacis her way, singing and talking to her, gently rocking her car seat...I finally figured out the best thing was to put both hands on the wheel and get us home safely (as quickly as possible!)

We had a great time at my parents and Lillian did really well adjusting to being in a different environment. She slept through the night both Friday and Saturday although she was up at 5 a.m. on Sunday morning. We had lots of fun meeting all of my parent's pets, taking Lil to Nordstrom for the first time, weathering the hail and tornadoes Saturday night, mass on Sunday morning (Lil was in awe of the priest), a nice brunch and hanging out with Uncle Paul.

Lillian has met my parent's Boston Terrier, Bugsy, several times. But it was like she was seeing him for the first time this weekend. She was laughing at him and even reached out to pet him. She also liked going outside with grandpa to listen to the birds singing, the nature walk she took with Uncle Paul and laying on Grammie's side of the bed as shown in the video below...

Dr. Phil looking for teeth...he saw two through Lil's gums on the bottom and said we are probably a few weeks away from them making their appearance.
