7:45ish - Wake up time! Lillian likes to wake up talking and singing. Eventually she'll let us know when she is ready to get up by throwing her "ce-ce" (paci) out of her crib, saying "uh-oh" and then yelling "Ah-son" (Addison...yes, she calls her dad Addison) and "mama".
8:00 - Time to take the brace off! Lillian has to wear her brace at night now (12 hours) and we are thrilled!! This is usually her first diaper change of the day as well, she is wearing size 5 diapers now.
8:30 - Sid the Science Kid time. Behind anything with Elmo in it, this is Lil's favorite show.
9:00 - Breakfast. Lil loves feeding herself which can be very, very messy but she is very proud of herself so I let her practice as much as possible. Her favorite breakfast includes anything with peanut butter on it, bagels, "apple" (anything round is apple) and yogurt.
9:45 - Play time! Lillian really isn't interested in playing with her toys very much these days. She is more interested in exploring everything in our house...especially those things that she shouldn't be: Conrad's water and food bowls, cords, trash cans, the DVD player, remotes and cabinets (we do let her "organize" her snack cabinet). I feel like I spend most of my time telling her no. But I know this is just a part of growing up, she is exploring and learning. And it is great to see her moving so much, although exhausting. She still does her Lil crawl (left leg out straight to the side, right leg bent in normal crawling position) but she also can crawl in the normal way you see babies crawl. She can also pull herself up to standing and take steps with assistance. She has even stood on her own for seconds at a time! It really is wonderful to see. She has been through so much and continues to amaze us with her strength and determination.
10:30 - Nap time...maybe. I think Lil is getting to the age where she may not need a morning nap. But some mornings, she definitely does. So we play it by ear. Crankiness = nap time.
noon - About this time, Lil is ready for lunch. We usually give her cheese, crackers, lunch meat, some sort of veggie and milk. Occasionally, we'll give her mac n' cheese or leftovers from the previous night's dinner. She is becoming quite good at letting us know when she is done eating by saying "all done!" or by throwing everything left on her tray all over the kitchen. We try avoid getting to that point if at all possible (although Conrad appreciates it.)
Mid afternoon - more play time! Some of Li's favorite things to do include: spending time outside; practicing walking (as seen in the video below!); blowing "bubbles!"...she can do it herself but oftentimes ends up putting the bubble wand in her mouth; giving Conrad hugs, pats and kisses; playing with her "balls!" (she's got a very strong throwing arm); going on walks; reading her books (she likes to have us read a few pages to her and then flips through them herself); playing with her friend Hunter; sometimes throwing a tantrum or two (so fun); crawling up the stairs from the basement and coloring. She keeps us very, very busy!!
3:00 or so - Afternoon nap time. Usually, Lillian is pretty tired from the day's activities so she sleeps for a good two hours. And if we are smart, we do the same!
5:30 - Lil is up from her nap...although it takes a bit for her to wake up. She usually likes to bring her "ce-ce" (one in her mouth and one in her hand) and blankie with her to the living room while she wakes up.
6:00 - Time for dinner. Some of her very favorites are spaghetti, quesadillas, soup, carrots, avocado and of course, cheese. I introduce new foods to her often and have found that she isn't very fond of meat, eggs, beans, broccoli and apparently, strawberries...
After dinner we will play, take a walk or run errands if we need to. I like to give Lillian a bath every night because she enjoys it so much. She has started laying on her tummy in the bathtub and "swimming". It's good practice! She loves playing with her bath toys and the running water. She loves when I put "bubbles!" in the tub and will scoop them up, putting them on herself or me. She consistently tries to stand up but she knows that is a no-no so she'll flash me a smile and give me a kiss to try to convince me to let her stand...I have to admit that it's endearing but it doesn't work. I probably say "SIT ON YOUR BUM" about 20 times per bath.
8:30 - Bed time for Lil. She gets a "ba-ba" of milk, we brush her teeth, sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", tuck her in with her two "ce-ces" and blankie, say our prayers and say "night, night." She is a good little sleeper and some of my favorite moments are when I go into her room and watch her sleep.
It's a wonderfully, active life...and we love every moment.
